The Prisoner Who Returned to Celebrate the Eucharist
On 31 July 2026, Cardinal Ernest Simoni celebrated the Eucharist at the former communist prison camp of Spaç in Albania. There, he spent years imprisoned and subjected to forced labor after his arrest (1963). He remained imprisoned until 1981. In a message for the occasion, Pope Leo XIV wrote that "no prison can separate a person from the love of Christ."

Homosex Exhibition Withdrawn from Church

An suggestive exhibition by the Lecoq artists' collective was withdrawn from the church Chapelle du Bourg in Arradon, Bretagne, northwestern France, on 30 July.
The exhibition, titled Le Poulailler 4, was scheduled to run from 27 July to 2 August 2026 and had been organized by the municipality as part of its cultural programme.
It included photographs depicting two men kissing, a man wearing pink underwear in a suggestive pose, a photograph of male buttocks.
Only after complaints about this homosexual propaganda, the municipality proposed that the most controversial photographs either be removed from the chapel or transferred to a nearby municipal exhibition space.
The Lecoq collective declined both proposals and removed the entire exhibition on 30 July, before its scheduled closing date.
Photographer Nikolaz Le Coq stated that he had not considered the photographs to be a profanation of the chapel and said he had [alledgely] not anticipated that they would be perceived in that way.

High Altar for Church of FSSP: In September 2025, the stately church of the Immaculate Conception in Lobith, the Netherlands, was already closed. The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter (FSSP) acquired the church with the consent of the Archdiocese of Utrecht. Since November, the Mass in the Roman rite has been celebrated there. Dutch priest Paolo D'Angona reports that in recent days, the church received this magnificent high altar from another church that had to be closed.

Beach Mass During Jesuits' Retreat
Worse than Germany: A photograph published by Avvenire, the newspaper of the Italian Bishops' Conference, shows a Mass celebrated on the beach during "100 Pinne – Mare e Bibbia," a Jesuit summer retreat founded in 2010. The programme offers a week-long holiday including daily Eucharists, Bible study, prayer, community life, excursions, time at the beach. The 2026 edition is taking place in Ragusa (Sicily), Briatico (Calabria), Cagliari (Sardinia), and Vlorë (Albania).

Canada Barring Military Chaplains from Praying at Military Ceremonies: On July 29, Canada's [totalitarian] government introduced a new Canadian Armed Forces policy requiring military chaplains to replace prayers with non-religious "spiritual reflections" at official ceremonies, including Remembrance Day, graduations, and change of command events. The government says the change is intended to uphold state religious neutrality and make ceremonies inclusive of all beliefs.

Canada's new inclusive 'spiritual reflections' policy bans prayer at military ceremonies - LifeSite

Thu Jul 30, 2026 - 6:25 pm EDT (LifeSiteNews) — A Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) member blasted a new “spiritual reflections” military policy direction that essentially bans using any religious-specific language or even references to God in most military ceremonies. “We used to have a robust and inclusive prayer policy where we could pray in an inclusive way that aligned with our faith traditions,” a CAF member told LifeSiteNews under condition of anonymity. The CAF member noted that the previous prayer policy is “very important in our tradition around commemorating the dead, Remembrance Day, Battle of Britain, Battle of the Atlantic, and (so on).” “However, now we are not allowed to pray in public. The new policy means chaplains can only do a secular reflection in public.” On July 29, the CAF officially released what its “Spiritual reflections in military settings” policy that provides direction to both military chaplains and CAF members on what is expected during military ceremonies. …

Cardinal Zuppi Wants "a Mediation" on Euthanasia Legislation. Worse than Germany: Speaking on Luca Zaia's podcast Il Fienile in late July 2026, Cardinal Matteo Zuppi of Bologna, President of the Italian Bishops' Conference, said: "I know well that those who are ill don't wait for the law. There are also regions acting in a fragmented way. Politics should find a mediation. I've met sick people who wanted to leave. In these cases, respect is needed. The only choice you can make is to stay close to those who are suffering, which doesn't mean giving up your principles."

Germany Builds AI 'Racist Uncle' Robot To Indoctrinate Kids In Schools

Authored by an 'anonymous German teacher' via dailysceptic.org, Täteropferumkehr is the German term for “victim blaming” – often hyphenated as Täter-Opfer-Umkehr to make it look slightly less clunky. In recent times, our political and media establishment have turned it into a sharp tool, employed with reference to both foreign and domestic politics. Unsurprisingly, Germany’s woke Left – always eager to champion the alleged plight of the “oppressed” – views Israel, the only functioning democracy in the Middle East, as the ultimate perpetrator, while framing bloodthirsty Arab aggressors as the true victims. In 2025, five Berlin-based “activists” (four of whom openly identify as “they/them”) ransacked an Elbit Systems facility in Ulm, causing over a million euros in damage. Now standing trial in Stuttgart, they naturally view themselves as the victims. One wonders what would happen if “roller-skating” Daniel, “music-making” Crow, “poetry-writing” Leandra, “community-organising” Vi, and …

Poland to Inaugurate Europe's Tallest Marian Statue: On August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, Poland will consecrate a 55.6-meter statue of the Virgin Mary in Konotopie, near Toruń, making it the tallest Marian statue in Europe. The project, launched in March 2025, is funded by Polish billionaire Roman Karkosik. Estimated to cost around 100 million zlotys (€22.85 million), local officials hope it will become a major pilgrimage and tourism destination.

Diocese Ceuta Responds to Invasion by Raising Money for Invaders

The Spanish Diocese of Cádiz and Ceuta has issued a statement expressing concern over the situation in Ceuta following the mass arrival of young male migrants from Morocco.
Its main initiative is to dedicate this weekend's collections in Ceuta's parishes to the Diocesan Migration Office.
The funds will be distributed through the San Antonio Migrant Assistance Center to address the most urgent needs in coordination with the relevant civil authorities.
Meanwhile, videos circulating on social media reportedly show knife attacks, the looting of private homes and supermarkets, and other crimes committed by some of the illegal migrants.

Recently, I had the great blessing of making a pilgrimage to Quito, Ecuador, to pray at the site of Our Lady of Good Success. It was a deeply moving experience, and I have continued to reflect on her messages since returning home.
The warnings Our Lady gave concerning the Church and the world are sobering, and in many ways we can see them unfolding around us. But Our Lady did not leave us only with warnings. She also spoke of hope. She spoke of restoration.
One part of her prophecy remains especially in my heart. It is her description of those souls through whom God would begin that restoration.
