"Satan Wants Your Family—What Are You Doing About It?" | Doug Barry on the St. Joseph Mindset
"You are the head of the house. You are the first line of defense. What are you doing about it?" Catholic speaker and author Doug Barry joins CatholicTV to share an urgent wake-up call for Catholic husbands and fathers. How can Catholic men overcome spiritual passivity and step up as the protectors and leaders their families need? Longtime evangelist, former Life on the Rock co-host, and founder of Radix, Doug Barry joins This Is the Day to discuss his new book from Ignatius Press, First Line of Defense: Battle-Ready Leadership for the Catholic Man. Doug recounts the unforgettable, convicting encounter with an Irish priest who challenged him early in his marriage to bless his home, wife, and unborn child with holy water and stand guard on the spiritual wall. He breaks down why spiritual authority matters, pointing to Saint Joseph’s prompt obedience to the angel to protect the Holy Family from …Zaidi

French military chaplain Romain Ghandou has sparked a political storm, with a prominent left-wing politician calling for his imprisonment.
The video is from a 7 Oct 2025 Mass at Carcassonne Cathedral, before soldiers of the 3rd Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment (3e RPIMa).
“Calm down, leftists! Breathe through your nose,” Ghandou said, drawing laughter and applause. He attacked “liars,” “incompetents” and those who “lecture everyone.”
He urged soldiers to “keep fighting” and have “the courage of your convictions,” warning that otherwise France would be ridiculed and “others will take our place.”
Le Canard enchaîné publicised the footage Friday, sparking outrage on the left. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, founder of La France Insoumise (France Unbowed), alleged “racist insults” and said: “His place is in prison.”
Le Canard linked the sermon to the “Great Replacement,” though Ghandou does not use that phrase in the published excerpt.

Brazilian Catholic priest Father Márlon Múcio marked his parents’ 54th wedding anniversary with a blessing from his sickbed. Known to many as “the Living Miracle,” the priest shared a video on Instagram honoring his parents, Múcio and Carminha. He noted that they have been together for 60 years, including their years of courtship. Father Márlon lives with Riboflavin Transporter Deficiency (RTD), a rare genetic neurodegenerative disease that affects fewer than 350 people worldwide. He takes more than 300 pills a day and relies on a mechanical ventilator around the clock. Despite frequent hospitalizations and periods in intensive care, he continues to celebrate Mass, write books and lead charitable work in Brazil, including efforts supporting people with rare diseases.

The home of Cardinal Ernest Simoni, 97, in Florence was burgled while he was in Britain.
The Albanian cardinal was received by King Charles III at Balmoral Castle on September 15. According to Corriere.it, thieves targeted the Curia-owned apartment in Piazza Duomo where Simoni lives with his nephew Tonin and his family.
When his nephew called with the news, the cardinal’s first concern was not the money: “Did they leave the statue of Our Lady of Medjugorje? And Padre Pio?”
Told both were untouched, Simoni replied simply: “Allora poco male” - “Then, little harm done.”
The burglars smashed through a wall with chisels, forced open an armoured door and ransacked wardrobes, boxes and luggage, leaving their tools on the landing.
The haul, estimated at €30,000, included cash, gold, jewellery, medals and a gold seal. Strangely, Simoni’s residence permit was also taken.
Tonin and his wife had left around 1 p.m. and returned at 11 p.m. to find the apartment ransacked. Tonin believes the family …Zaidi

Cardinal Pietro Parolin: “Russia should not be isolated.”
Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a conference in Rome on September 16, the Vatican Secretary of State reiterated the Holy See’s case for maintaining direct channels with Moscow as the war in Ukraine continues.
“Russia should not be isolated,” Cardinal Parolin said according to VaticanNews.va. He argued that some form of channel must be maintained “where people can talk to one another”.
Cardinal Parolin admitted that the results of Vatican diplomacy so far have been “rather limited”. Nevertheless, Vatican diplomacy will “continue on our path.”
He also confirmed that Cardinal Matteo Zuppi’s humanitarian mission concerning Ukraine will continue, including returning to Moscow this September.

🇩🇪 Election fakes — again
Another local election is coming up in Germany and the same idiotic election-fraud videos are popping up.
Here is how election fraud actually works, and why such videos are fake.
1) Logic?
Why would a poll worker strap a GoPro to his forehead and film a criminal act? The ballot is from Spandau in Berlin, which would land him in jail because he is easy to find. Filming it would also invalidate the vote, so it would be redone. That guarantees jail time and invalidates the vote. It makes no sense.
2) No one opens ballot boxes alone. There are always many people and election observers.
Even if observers were in cahoots, what generally hard to achieve, because all parties send their own to protect integrity, they would not cut ballots dramatically on camera.
Why do that? Why publish it?
3) The more people a conspiracy involves, the lower its chance of success.
Removing ballots at a polling station, with many people present and all parties sending …Zaidi

Fatima Keeps Rupnik Mosaic
The Marian shrine of Fátima, Portugal, does not plan to remove or cover its massive Rupnik mosaic. Last year, the Fátima shrine issued a statement saying that it would not remove the mosaic.
The Substack.com-Account The Pillar (September 18) contacted the Fátima shrine again after Rupnik’s mosaics at Lourdes were covered and “was told there is no update to the shrine’s stance.”
There is the prospect of a papal visit to Fátima next year.
Rupnik is facing a canonical trial at the Vatican over credible accusations that he sexually, spiritually, and psychologically abused numerous women. His art, with its big black eyes and characteristic asymmetry, mirrors a warped mind.
Bishop Virgílio Antunes, president of the Portuguese bishops’ conference and chairman of the National Council of the Fátima Shrine, acknowledged that “one cannot separate the artwork from the context and the circumstances in which it was created.” BUT: Neither he nor the bishops’ conference “…Zaidi

Searing Elon Musk Film Nears U.S. Release Amid Overseas Concerns
nytimes.com/…/business/media/elon-musk-documentar…
Alex Gibney’s “Musk” will arrive in United States theaters next month. Universal says it remains committed to releasing it overseas but has yet to set dates.
By Brooks Barnes
Reporting from Los Angeles
Sept. 17, 2026 Strong festival reviews for “Musk,” a scorching documentary about Elon Musk, have prompted its United States distributor to move up the film’s release by a week, to Oct. 9.
Overseas, however, Universal Pictures has yet to announce any release dates. The uncertainty has led some members of the movie’s filmmaking team to wonder whether political considerations are influencing the rollout. Universal’s response: The overseas release is all systems go — it simply needs more time to set dates across dozens of markets.
“Musk,” directed by the Oscar- and Emmy-winning documentarian Alex Gibney, had its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival earlier …Zaidi

Leo XIV-appointed Bishop Beat Grögli of St Gallen, Switzerland, knows about the transvestite show organised by the city chaplaincy.
Ann-Katrin Gässlein, the chaplaincy’s pastoral worker for Culture and Education, told CatholicHerald.co.uk that the bishop “has been informed about the event in the spirit of transparent communication”.
Tomorrow’s transvestite event has been in preparation for “several months.” It was “deliberately conceived as the kickoff for the ‘Deep Drag’ format.” Gässlein claimed that “the art form of drag serves as a medium and a catalyst for conversation, not as a matter of faith.”

Leo XIV promotes bishop who opposed Communion-ban for Biden. And: “I believe in Martin Luther King”.
Leo XIV appointed Bishop Brendan John Cahill, 62, as the new bishop of Joliet, Illinois, on September 17. He has been bishop of the Diocese of Victoria, Texas, since 2015.
In May 2021, Cahill joined 67 other U.S. bishops in urging USCCB president Archbishop José Gomez to halt discussion on “Eucharistic worthiness.” This was about denying abortion politicians such as President Joe Biden Holy Communion.
The letter's effort failed outwardly as the bishops proceeded with the debate. But the national confrontation over Communion for pro-abortion politicians never materialized.
Bishops on the other side of the dispute, including Archbishops Samuel Aquila and Salvatore Cordileone, publicly criticized the letter.
In November 2025, Bishop Cahill told NcReporter that he is “convicted of nonviolence”: “I believe in Martin Luther King.”
