Catholic shrine vandalized and restored in Ceuta, Spain. A small Catholic shrine dedicated to Our Lady of the Rosary and Fray Leopoldo near Tiro Pichón in Ceuta was found badly vandalized this week. Religious images and devotional objects were damaged or displaced. The perpetrators are unknown. Following reports of the destruction, Ceuta’s municipal authorities sent workers to clean the site, repair the damage and restore the shrine.

The videos from the scene show the aftermath inside and outside St George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Hama after a bomb exploded on 13 September, on the eve of the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The blast shattered windows and damaged the church and nearby cars, but no one was killed or injured. Syrian authorities opened an investigation. No group has claimed responsibility.
Last Sunday, there was another bomb attack on a church in Syria. This time, however, no one was killed or injured. Security camera footage shows a masked man placing the bomb underneath a car parked directly in front of the Greek Orthodox St. George’s Cathedral in Hama. The bomb exploded later that evening. September 14 (the day after the attack) is traditionally celebrated in the Greek Orthodox Church as the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross. There was no church service taking place in the cathedral at the time, which likely saved many lives. However, the church was damaged in the attack, and many windows were shattered by the explosion. Tragic Suicide of Italian -Priest, 75 Italian priest Lino Zatelli, 75, killed himself on August 12. He had been parish priest of San Carlo Borromeo in Trento for a quarter of a century. He was found dead inside the rectory of his parish after he didn’t show up to celebrate the Eucharist. Corriere del Trentino reported the death as a voluntary act. Two months earlier he had learned that he would have to leave San Carlo in November for another pastoral assignment. Zatelli publicly said he had not asked to leave. Sad detail: During his Easter homily, Don Zatelli preached about Judas's suicide.
