Belgian Bishop Trains Married Men to Be Ordained Priests by 2028.
Bishop Johan Bonny of Antwerp, Belgium, told LaLibre.be on September 14 about his plan, announced already in March, to ordain married men to the priesthood by 2028.
In June, he informed two Curia Cardinals about his course of action: Cardinal Lazarus You Heung-sik, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Clergy, and Cardinal Mario Grech, Secretary General of the Synod of Bishops.
Monsignor Bonny claims that the move is driven "by necessity", pointing to the acute shortage of priests in Flanders. Antwerp diocese has fewer than 70 priests under the age of 70, two-thirds of whom are from abroad.
The Cardinals replied that they would discuss it with Pope Leo XIV.
Bishop Bonny has identified several candidates for priestly ordination. They are receiving theological and pastoral training comparable to that of seminarians.
The preparation is being conducted “in a transparent but discreet manner, away from the media spotlight,” he …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

The carnival musician who almost married but then became a monk is now heading Heiligenkreuz.
The 84 voting monks of the "conservative" Cistercian abbey of Heiligenkreuz near Vienna elected Fr Simeon Wester, 61, as their new superior today. He will lead the community for the next three years without becoming abbot.
Born Karl Wester in Unkel on the Rhine, Germany, he grew up as one of five children.
Music came early: piano, organ and trombone, followed by formal studies in choral conducting, singing and church music.
As a young man, he was involved in the Rhineland carnival scene. Years later, when the musician decided to become a monk, the Cologne tabloid Express put the story on its front page: “Our carnival fool is going to the monastery.”
Wester had felt drawn to monastic life since his teens but initially chose music.
Around the age of 35, close to marrying his long-term girlfriend, he finally made the leap. He entered Heiligenkreuz in 2001.
Music followed him behind the monastery …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

Imagine if a Muslim did this. GTV would be all over it.
🇮🇱⚡🇵🇸 Israeli Air Force reservist and drone operator who participated in the war in Gaza reveals to Israeli newspaper Haaretz:
“I saw soldiers open fire on paramedics in Tel al-Sultan, Rafah, despite it being unmistakably clear that they were rescue workers.”
“When I asked an intelligence officer to upload targets to the system, he told me: ‘You have two million targets in Gaza.’ In other words, every person in Gaza was considered a target.”
“I was personally involved in the killing of 54 people even before October 7.”
“I came to realize that any soldier in Gaza could kill anyone they wanted, as many people as they wanted, without ever being held accountable.”

Active Participation: You can participate without doing anything
I think one of the things we really need to clarify when we talk about “active participation” at Mass is what we actually mean by the word “active.” Because sometimes, especially when comparing the Novus Ordo with the Traditional Latin Mass, it seems like active participation is understood primarily as doing something externally: saying more responses, making more gestures, moving around more, singing more, serving at the altar, reading the readings, bringing up the gifts, or somehow having a physical task to perform during the liturgy. And I understand where that idea comes from. Obviously, the congregation should not be completely disconnected from what is happening at the altar. Catholics are not supposed to be spectators at Mass. We are there to worship God. But if we define “active participation” as simply having a job to do or making more external responses and movements, then we run into a pretty obvious problem. If …تېخىمۇ كۆپ

Leo XIV appoints an interfaith champion, Monsignor Alfonso Raimo, 67, as Bishop of Terni-Narni-Amelia, Italy (September 15).
Raimo has been auxiliary bishop of Salerno-Campagna-Acerno since April 2024 and a honoaray member of Rotary Club since 2025.
Founder of an interreligious organization
In 2022, the School of Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue was formally constituted, with Raimo as its president.
In an October 2023 interview, Raimo explicitly connected the origins of his interreligious School with John Paul II's Assisi gathering. He explained that people of different religions walk together because “all religions can offer a contribution” to attaining peace.
He considers dialogue “not only as a desirable possibility but as a common obligation and the only viable path.”
Raimo described peace as a “harmony of differences” and called for accepting “diversity as an opportunity for personal growth and social development.”

It's vitally important to understand that when the dogma was declared in 1950, Pope Pius XII didn't just "make it up" or depart from Sacred Tradition in any way. He instead officially ratified what the Church had believed for centuries. How do I know this? I use an old Missal from the 19th cent. for private devotion & spiritual reading AND the feast of the Assumption of the BVM is listed therein. So so-called 'hyper-papalists' who claim the Pope has absolute authority over the Faith are wrong, The Holy Father can only safe-guard & guarantee the Faith, NOT CHANGE IT!

The Redemption of Man and the Rejection of “Holy Sex”
A Patristic and Scholastic Disputation Against the Modern Exaltation of Carnal Pleasure
“The first man Adam was made into a living soul; the last Adam into a quickening spirit.”
—1 Corinthians 15:45
Prologue: The Question Before Us
There is a fundamental question which must be asked before we speak of the holiness of sexual pleasure:
What is man?
And immediately after that:
What became of man through the Fall?
For if we begin with fallen man as though his present condition were the standard of human nature, we shall inevitably mistake the wounds of the Fall for the original design of God.
This is precisely the danger in the modern exaltation of sexuality.
The question is no longer merely:
"Is marital intercourse lawful?"
The Catholic tradition already answers that question.
The more profound question is:
"What ought the Christian to desire within the marital act?"
And here a profound difference appears between the ascetical tradition …تېخىمۇ كۆپ
